  1. The original Grapevine Highway
Happy Bottom Riding Club in the High Desert
Armargosa Opera House (And all of Armargosa. You better get there soon before she dies.) It’s near Death Valley.

  2. Hey Nick, congrats on the move!! I just moved last month with my family from Orange County, CA to Yonkers, NY. I stumbled upon ScoutingNY quite by accident a week ago and I’m having a fantastic time reading your posts! We went exploring in some Yonkers “ruins” yesterday, and I wanted to look up a couple of your posts (Seaman-Drake estate, King Zog, and Alder Estate in Yonkers). Wanted to wish you best of luck in your new endeavor in LA! Though I am not *from* Los Angeles, I know a bit about it and enjoy visiting, and I know you’ll have a great time getting to know LA. A couple of my favorite spots that I think you’ll enjoy checking out while you’re getting started in a new city are Philippe’s (The Original on Alameda St), The Last Bookstore, the Central Library (5th St), The Cicada Club (which you’ve likely seen in film already), and of course Griffith Park Observatory. Bon Chance!

  3. I own the bottom of Kilboune Hole a NATIONAL NATURAL LANDMARK. It was used to train astronatus (ms) back in the 70`s/ 80`s. Might be a fun shoot location. It is in New Mexico for what it is worth. Google it if you are remotely interested. I also own several other large pieces that might be of interest. cj

It would be lovely if you check the Frank Lloyd Wright Ennis House out.

  6. Mr. Carr,

I’m on 7 acres in the San Bernadino Natl. Forest.Less than two hours from LA. Breath taking views, true seclusion and privacy with a backdrop of RAW WILD mountain top! Two homes, a log cabin and a smaller more modern bungalow. Private cliff side driveway, rock outcroppings and cliffs, 100 year old trees, too many quirky extras to mention. The structures are workable and production ready, but the real uniqueness and potential lies in the LAND!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

  7. LA-96C, the old Nike missile control/RADAR site, at the west end of Mulholland Drive, on top of San Vicente Mountain.

LA was ringed with Nike missile sites, both control and launch facilities, to protest the US Defense manufacturing assets there.
